Oxygen
Ahhh yes, O2- oxygen. It is one of the five
basic elements of all life and a vital element to good health. Along with the
food we eat, it’s our primary source of energy. 90% of our energy
comes from oxygen and the other 10%
comes from food and water. These days, clean air to breathe is getting
increasingly scarce on our planet.
Folks
in Boulder have discussed a large plastic bubble, but at present it's not cost- effective.
City council is already trying to sue all large corporations for polluting "our"
air, so they have their hands full.
Small businesses all over the world are
responding by offering concentrated, purified oxygen to their clients as an
adjunctive therapy or in the waiting room. Spas have recently started to offer
oxygen, and in some locations an "oxy-facial" is available. You should be aware
that oxygen has never been proven effective as a therapy in the world of
medicine for anything other than
respiratory
disease and emergency situations. That hasn't stopped oxygen bars from opening
all over the world, most popular in areas where the air quality is questionable,
or places that are at high altitude. Oxygen is used in high altitude
mountaineering, where obviously it improves the ability of the climber to
function in an oxygen depleted environment. What I have noticed is that
otherwise "healthy" people who try oxygen report increased feelings of well-
being and relaxation, which can't be a bad thing...
You may be asking WHAT IS OXY- MASSAGE?
Well, it's just what it sounds like, I offer shiatsu and other forms of massage,
while you breathe 95% pure O2 infused with essential oils. It's heavenly, and
guaranteed to produce a state of deep relaxation.
Athletes agree oxygen increases their performance, endurance, and energy level.
Athletes and athletics require tremendous amounts of oxygen to convert
carbohydrates, sugars, fats and proteins into heat and energy required for their
high activity level. This conversion process is known as oxidation and what is
oxidized (or burned) for the body's energy are carbohydrates, sugars, fats, and
proteins. Without the presences of oxygen, foods oxidize very poorly,
resulting in poor cellular reproduction and function. Since oxygen is the
main fuel required to oxidize your carbohydrates, sugars, fats and proteins into
energy, a lack of oxygen will promote an inadequate oxidation process (poor
burning of foods), which will result in a lower percentage of your foods being
converted into energy and high percentage of your foods turning into fat. Not
so good, you say...
At Heaven and Earth we offer 95% pure oxygen with or without diffused essential
oils (only the highest quality- this is very important and the consumer should
beware of low grade oils, some of which may actually be harmful). Please see the
following link if you are interested in our source-
http://www.essentialbotanicals.com/essentialINFO.htm. We also have an oxygen
facial that is available- many customers find it fits in nicely with a
facial rejuvenation acupuncture session, or even during a normal acupuncture
treatment.
This treatment has a pretty strong relaxation effect, so I have to suggest not
going right back to the office...
